To capture the essence of a seaside sunset in a Riviera resort location, we use cedar bases, solid oak rope shaped pillars, and 24-carat gold plated solid pewter ship wheel closures. The cedar bases are finely finished to enhance the luminescent copper, brown, and bronze tones of the wood grain. The oak pillars are stained a medium brown to match, and the curves of the rope shaped hardwood glow as they reflect the light. “The Riviera” is completed with two sun-gold ship wheel closures, one on each side of the hourglass, that allow you to easily open it, fill it with your sands, and then seal it.
