The antique longleaf heart pine used in the handcrafting of this Heirloom Hourglass is over 100 years old, and it was reclaimed from the timbers of historic US buildings. The honey, brown, and red hues of this beautiful wood match the yellow pine pillars wonderfully, and they all receive a hand rubbed finish to showcase the rich patina of the wood grains. The intertwining strands of the rope shaped pillars are the perfect symbol of the joining of your lives in marriage. The Heartland is completed with 24 carat gold plated heart shaped closures on each side. These closures are engraveable, and they make it simple for you to open and close your hourglass from either side, fill it with your own real beach sands or colored sands, and then twist them back into place to seal your sands safely inside for display in your home. The Heartland will truly become a treasured family heirloom that you pass down through many generations. It stands 9 and 5/8 inches in height, and it’s 5 and ½ inches around.
