Heirloom Hourglass - The Americana
Own a piece of
natural American heritage and create a meaningful keepsake with The Americana
from Heirloom Hourglass. An instant classic and collector’s item, The Americana is made using reclaimed antique American
Chestnut bases, and yellow pine rope shaped pillars that receive a hand-rubbed dark stain. American Chestnut trees were wiped
out from the US landscape by a blight in 1905, making this a very rare hardwood. We carefully select our chestnut
from the reclaimed lumber of old cabins, barns, and structures for its rustic charm, rich golden copper patina, and character
nail holes. The American Chestnut bases are perfectly matched with rope shaped yellow pine pillars enhanced with a rich dark
stain. For a nautical touch, we complete The Americana with our solid pewter shell frame closures on each side of the hourglass.
These closures make it easy to open and close your hourglass so you can fill it with real beach sands from any location in
the world. The shell frames are designed to be engraved with your names, dates, locations, or personal message. To purchase
engraving on them, please see our Closure Engraving Service in the Personalization and Custom Closure Section. A sand collection
kit is included, and it contains a gift book with a certificate of authenticity. This unique sand ceremony hourglass is the perfect
addition to a wedding unity sand ceremony, family unity ceremony, or vow renewal ceremony. It is the perfect alternative
to the unity candle for an outdoor wedding sand ceremony, destination beach wedding sand ceremony, or an inside wedding where
a candle cannot be lit. It also makes the perfect heartfelt gift for any occasion.
Because of your purchase, we make
